Message from Miss Kate

In January 2020, I took over Kathryn Caple’s School of Dance.

Dance has been my passion since I was three years old, where I trained at Christine Kearsley’s School of Dance in Morden.  I am a qualified teacher in Ballet, Tap, Modern and Contemporary for the National Association of Teachers of Dance.  In addition, I am a trained Zumba instructor and Silver Swans teacher for the Royal Academy of Dance.

I studied Dance and Theatre Arts (BA honours) at Birmingham University, followed by a postgraduate degree in teaching.  For over 18 years, I have taught in primary schools across London and have been a Deputy headteacher as well as a co-ordinator for Special Educational Needs.  In addition to running the academy, I currently carry out assessments for children with learning needs.

At the academy, I am committed to maintaining high standards and ensuring all pupils reach their full potential as well as making dance fun and accessible to all. Dance has brought so much joy and focus to my life and I am determined to bring that to the children I teach.

I look forward to welcoming you into the academy.

Miss Kate
